UPDATE:  AUGUST 2016 – This feature is no longer available

Thanks to Chris C over at the Sparks of Hope Blog for this one:

Did you know that Google has a timeline feature? Go to Google.com and type the following into the search box: civil war view:timelinegoogletimeline 795992

Or you can click HERE

This will give you a timeline of the Civil War. You can then proceed to click on a month or year of the war and be taken to a page with information about that particular month.

Very nice tool.

This is fantastic! A tremendous resource for the novice and advanced student, thanks for bringing it to our attention. I’ve added your site to my blogroll at http://www.tipstorian.blogspot.com, definitely want to write a post about what you’re doing here.

Was it really a “civil” war?

As I understand it from Ms Croxton my 100 year old South Carolina high school history teacher ( she probably was there at the time ) the states had formed a separate country and were not seeking control over the rest of the place. The northern states actually invaded a sovereign country.
